At O’Neill Angels, we honor the incredible legacy of Kathleen Mulholland, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Kathleen, known affectionately as Kathy, was born on April 21, 1954, in Brooklyn, New York, to Peter and Irene O'Neill. Her journey through life was marked by her unwavering strength, boundless love, and a deep commitment to helping others.

Kathy’s life exemplified resilience and grace. After a courageous 20-month battle with stage 4 ovarian cancer, she passed away at home on June 17, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Throughout her illness, Kathy’s strong will to live and her unshakeable faith in God shone brightly, inspiring everyone around her. The love and prayers of her family, friends, and countless supporters sustained her through the toughest times.

A dedicated nurse, Kathy followed in the footsteps of her mother and sisters, committing her professional life to caring for others. Her compassion and kindness left a lasting impact on her patients and colleagues alike. Beyond her nursing career, Kathy was an avid athlete who set high goals for herself and worked tirelessly to achieve them. She cherished summers at Breezy Point, where she spent joyful days walking the beach and splashing in the waves with her family.

Kathy's gentle and honest demeanor won the hearts of all who knew her. She believed in the power of simple acts done with great love, and she lived each day with unwavering kindness. Her spirit continues to guide us as we strive to give back to the community in her honor.

Kathy is survived by her devoted husband of over 40 years, Gerard Mulholland, and their four cherished children: Erin and Mike O’Hanlon, Meghan, Shannon and Mike Gulbin, and Peter. She was a proud and loving Nanny to her grandchildren, Riley, Jack, Keira, Casey, and Maeve who brought her immense joy. She is also survived by her supportive sisters, Ann Schneider and Patricia O’Neill.

At O’Neill Angels, we carry forward Kathy’s legacy of love, compassion, and community service. Inspired by her life, we are dedicated to organizing activities and fundraisers that give back to those in need, ensuring that her spirit of generosity and kindness continues to thrive in our community.

A graduate of Kings County Nursing School, Brooklyn College, and SUNY-Downstate Medical Center, she excelled academically, graduating summa cum laude and completing her surgical residency and critical care fellowship with distinction.

Patricia's career was characterized by her passion for trauma and surgical critical care. She served as Co-Chief of the Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at Kings County Hospital, and held leadership roles at Brookdale Hospital, where she was the Medical Director of Trauma and Vice Chair of Surgery. Patricia and Peter crafted a beautiful life together, balancing their demanding careers with their love for each other, their commitment to friends and family, and their passion for service.
